Baby Skin, Baby Clothing, Diaper Rash, Baby Gifts and Baby Lotion
A baby’s skin is far more delicate than an adult’s. Your little one is more susceptible to sunburn, premature wrinkles, scrapes and other skin irritations. Here are few tips to help you deal with your child’s minor skin problems.
Wash your hands
Wash your and the child’s hands properly. You need to rub your baby’s hands vigorously by using soap or any other sanitizer. Pay a lot of attention towards rubbing the areas between the fingers and fingernails. While using a public restroom, use toilet paper or tissue papers to open the door and turn off the taps. This will protect you and your child against many bacteria and viruses.
Protection from sunburn
You must protect your child from direct exposure of sun rays. May skin problems and even skin cancer can be attributed to over exposure to the direct rays of the sun. Protect your child by using a hat or applying a sunscreen lotion. Avoid stepping out from home in the afternoons when the sunrays are strongest.
Minor cuts
Minor cuts should be dealt with immediately. You can apply some lotion or a band aid. However, in case of wounds which do not stop bleeding, you must consult a medical expert.
Take care of baby’s clothes
Wash your baby’s clothes properly to avoid any kind of skin issue. You can soak them in some hypoallergenic detergent or soap especially formulated for the babies.
Use the right products
Avoid experimenting anything on your baby’s skin. Use the dermatological tested products for your child’s skin care. Babies require gentle products that suit their skin requirements.
Blisters and bruises
Bruises are normally the result of the broken blood vessels under the skin. If your child gets injured, apply ice to mitigate swelling and bleeding. Blister can be reduced by pulling out the moleskin. This will help him protect against further injury or any kind of infection. In case this doesn’t work, you must seek medical advice.
Rashes
Babies get quite irritated by diaper rashes, cradle cap or other skin problems. The rashes may get removed on their own when they come in contact with the air. Apply proper diaper rash cream on the red areas. Do not keep the diapers too tight and remove them as soon as they are wet.
Taking care of the baby’s skin might seem to be a tough job but once you know some basics it becomes easier. For instance, you need to know what all problems can be treated at home and which need expert medical advice. Prevention is always better than cure. Take preventive measures and ensure that your baby has a healthy and glowing skin.
